This is some real-life dystopian shit!

I watched this in good faith – a typical weekend relaxer to ease my mind from the somewhat torrid years we have been having as a race; as humanity attempts to recover its losses from a pandemic, a war, an ongoing recession, a global cost of living crisis and complete and utter chaos from every corner of the globe.

Many seem to be coping, albeit masking their worries and issues but I genuinely believe this is just the trauma and adrenaline kicking in for most. There are survivors, ‘thrivers’ and there are those who live the same existential life where nothing really changes for them – so, they simply exist in their ‘truth’; feeding the conglomerate machine that once served them…or is it vice-versa?

By the by, if you consider yourself a lifer because you have made a life for yourself by hopping on to OnlyFans or Feet Tinder, and doing abhorrent things that even you yourself are disgusted by, for the sake of money and living a ‘lavish’ life because there simply isn’t any other way…that, is your cross to bear.

There is learning [life] in pain and suffering.

Back to the film; if we believe AI and cybernetics will be the downfall of man, this film corroborates it in many different stages, however, I shan’t get into it too much – you must watch it for yourself and come to your own calculated conclusions.

What preserves us as humans is our love for one another, however, it is also what will and could destroy us all. As long as we continue to see differences in our culture, race, traits, social class, and hierarchy…the data we continue to produce will continue to fuel the ‘hate machine’ that we expel daily by emotion.

The happenings of life have made us more and more selfish of one another, but at the love of each other – makes no sense right? Let me break it down a little; you are walking down the street on a cold day and you spot a beggar, shivering and in tattered clothes asking you for the minimum. You are in a position to help but you don’t, you continue on your stride because you couldn’t bear parting with what you have and because you abhor the premise of being accosted by someone who apparently ‘has given up’ on life.

That being said, the exchange could have taken place. You could have spared the extra pounds or dollars but you don’t. Your hate for this complete stranger has fuelled you enough to decide they do not deserve your love and that YOU deserve all the love you can keep…to yourself and for yourself. So, you keep it. All to yourself.

All for one and one…for one.

As a marketer I have always said data is king; do I believe it, yes. I wouldn’t say it if I didn’t, however, it isn’t all positive data nor is it negative data as we all believe or I previously believed – it is simply just data.

Data is our emotional ties to others, our emotional ties to things, and our emotional reactions to the world around us and THIS unfortunately is often and always recorded somewhere. This is what will fuel the next generation.

Elon Musk believes one of the deadliest threats to humanity is AI, meanwhile, Mark Zuckerberg wants us in the Metaverse – which will triumph? Neither.

My belief is humanity will continue to exist, however at the desecration of many, while others succeed exceedingly well…like a Kipling cake. We lose some, we gain some but life will continue to change all around us and it is only down to a few who maintain their moral values, who will inevitably survive the somewhat holocaust, the genocide of man that is happening daily, hourly, and by the second.

What will be left you ask?

I guess only time will tell.
